The Senior Safety® App integrates IoT devices making the home and the outdoors in which the elderly live a safe and always controlled environment. Through the installation of a Smart Home Kit in the person's home together with a wearable device with LoRa and LTE technology, we will be able to analyze behavior, health, vital parameters, movements thanks to the support of tutors and social workers. The app will allow you to set a reminder on the drugs to be administered, clinical, drug, allergy, blood group, all in compliance with current regulations (GDPR) to protect the citizen.

This implies the need to provide more assistance. The elderly prefer to live and grow old within the walls of their homes rather than in a different structure, which leads to assistance and a waste of human resources far greater than normal.

We must therefore focus on the ability of the elderly to become independent. This can also happen thanks to the use of technology and the implementation of the IoT in the daily life of the elderly.

When we talk about IoT in the home context, the first thought is that of the smart home: the ability to have an intelligent environment that can help those who live there simplify many basic functions.

The different coloring of the Senior Safety® kits present on the map varies both according to the degree of criticality of the patient or elderly person and according to the health status, in order to allow the designated staff to better, more efficiently manage the critical issues and emergencies of each department or each area of the health facility. The on-site dispatch of any healthcare personnel to support needs and emergencies is managed in such a way as to give priority not only to the criticality of the request and of the intervention, but also to the proximity of the position on the map, with respect to the reference elderly person.

The Senior Safety app and its monitoring kit have interfaces that are easy to interact with and usable for both medical and assistance personnel for the elderly person or the patient himself. Intuitive colors and buttons complement the extremely simple navigation and the various sections offer a complete overview of data monitoring. In the "Senior" section, for example, it is possible to view the thresholds that generate the notifications of the values detected by the sensors of the KIT, graphs, drugs, reports, house on the map and medical records. In the "Tutor" and "Family" TAB, on the other hand, there are the direct contacts of the Senior managers who can be notified in the event of an emergency. The alarm is obviously triggered immediately in order to provide all the most appropriate support in the shortest possible time.
